Set facts

Cards

Numbering

#1–150

About the set

• Issued in 1961. Numbered 1–150, 149 cards in all, because No 100 was never issued.
• The wrappers read "FILM-STJÄRNOR" with a pack marking such as "SERIE 2X", "3 X" or "7 X".
• Also issued in Finland (see below).
• Cards from this set also turned up at a prize stall at Gröna Lund in Stockholm, where it was one of the more common sets.

Variants and printings

• The Finnish issue has a "Jenkki" back with "MAAN ENITEN MYYTY PURUKUMI" and "LANDETS MEST SÅLDA TUGGUMMI" (the country's best-selling chewing gum) and "Hellas". These cards are thin, have no laminate and are larger, 5.5 x 8 cm.

How to recognise

• The front carries the star's name, often a studio or distributor such as "Hafbo", "Corona Film" or "20th Century Fox", and "Serie X" with the number.

Numbers to know

• No 100 does not exist.
• No 132–150 repeat pictures already used under lower numbers, apparently to bring the set up to 150.
• No 101–150 are a little harder to find than No 1–99.
