Unnumbered Western Set
Fairly common, every card about as easy as the next except one. The colour variant of Roy Rogers with his horse, marked PARAMOUNT, with lighter clothes and a yellow sky instead of a blue one, is by far the hardest.

- The Dutch printing: thinner card, smaller text, names in upper and lower case.
- The front carries the star's name in capitals and a studio mark, such as "PARAMOUNT", "R.P.", "REP. PICT", "C.F.", "CENTRALFILM" or "COL", but no number.
- The cards are unnumbered.
More about this set
About the set
- Issued 1952–55 as "Westernbilder". 61 coloured cards with no numbers, counting one colour variant.
- Western stars only.
- Issued by Svenska Handelskompaniet in Malmö.
- The pictures are the same ones used in several numbered sets (see Related sets).
- The wrapper is grey with a die-cut window and reads "Serie nr 494", "HOLLÄNDSKA FILMSTJÄRNEBILDER" and "äkta FILMFOLIE-yta".
Variants and printings
- Roy Rogers with his horse (marked "PARAMOUNT") has a colour variant: lighter colours on his clothes and a yellow sky instead of a blue one.
How to recognise
- The missing number is what sets these cards apart from the numbered sets with the same pictures.
- A Dutch printing also exists. Its cards are thinner, the text is smaller, and the names are in upper and lower case instead of all capitals.
Numbers to know
- The yellow-sky Roy Rogers variant is by far the hardest card. All the others are equally common.
- Some names are spelled "Gene Autrey", "Rex Allan" and "William Elliot" in listings of the set. Whether the cards carry the same spellings is unclear.
Related sets
- 1951 Serie B, 1951 Serie C, 1952 Numbered Set 7 (1-198) and 1954 Numbers on the Right (Colored): the same pictures.
Collector notes
- Western stars only, with names and no numbers. Roy Rogers also exists in a colour variant.
- The checklist is probably incomplete.
