Good to know
- Film stills from "Tjorven, Båtsman och Moses" carry the character and film names, for example BA 48: "Tjorven", "Båtsman". Ur "Tjorven, Båtsman, Moses".
- Extremely rare: all other numbers (BA 11–60, 71–100 and 111–140), possibly even harder to find than 1961 Serie FA.
More about this set
About the set
- Issued in 1965. 150 cards, numbered BA 1–150.
- A variant of 1965 HB Set: exactly the same pictures under the same numbers, with BA in place of HB.
- Much harder to find than the HB cards, apart from 40 numbers (see below).
- Some BA cards came in ordinary HB packs. For unknown reasons, four HB packs sometimes hold BA cards instead of HB cards: pack HB 1 (BA 1–10), HB 7 (BA 61–70), HB 11 (BA 101–110) and HB 15 (BA 141–150). How the other BA cards reached buyers is not known, though now and then a single BA card turns up among nine HB cards in an HB pack.
Variants and printings
- Every picture also exists with an HB number in 1965 HB Set.
How to recognise
- The number is "BA" followed by the figure, for example "BA 81". The picture is the same as on the HB card with the same number.
Numbers to know
- No double numbers and no gaps.
- Easy: BA 1–10, 61–70, 101–110 and 141–150, the 40 cards found in HB packs. These are about as easy to get as HB cards.
- The Elvis and Beatles cards in BA are expensive and much sought after. The rare Elvis cards are BA 37, 56 and 60; BA 69 Elvis falls in an easy run. The rare Beatles cards are BA 11, 21, 31, 41, 51, 71, 81, 91, 111, 121, 131 and 134; BA 1, 61, 101, 141 and 144 are easy.
Related sets
- 1965 HB Set: the same pictures with HB numbers, common. Most collectors collect both sets despite the identical pictures.
- 1961 Serie FA: the rare BA numbers may be even harder to find than this set.
