About the set

• Variant cards of 1963 Serie C (Printed in Holland), from 1963, treated as a set of their own.
• 42 cards known so far, on 37 different numbers between 3 and 99. Not every number has been found, and some may never have been printed.
• Like the main set, mostly western pictures.

How to recognise

• There are two types:
  • C with a small hook at the top, number on the right: No 3, 17, 18, 21, 33, 35, 38, 40, 41, 44, 48, 49, 52, 54, 63, 64, 65, 68, 74, 79, 84, 89, 92, 98, 99.
  • Plain C, number on the left: No 4, 12, 23, 25, 36, 37, 42, 47, 53, 55, 61, 78.
• The same number usually shows a different star from the main set. No 54, for example, is Pernell Roberts here and Roy Rogers in the main set.

Numbers to know

• No 40 is the hardest number, in both pictures, and the Elvis Presley card is much in demand.
• Most plain-C, number-left cards are a little harder to find than most hooked-C cards.
• Whether No 79 is printed "Tony Curtis" or "Tony Curis" is unclear.

• No seller or catalogue has a name of its own for this set; the site calls it 1963 Serie C (Printed in Holland) Variants after its parent set.
