More about this set
About the set
- Issued in 1958. Black-and-white cards of Elvis Presley and Tommy Steele, at least 60 different, with no numbers.
- Made by Cumulus of Stockholm.
- Not sold as a set of its own. One card went into each wine-red pack together with nine cards of the 1957 Large Number Studio Series. This probably happened only for a short time near the end of that set's run, to lift interest.
- The wrappers read "Bild-Kalendarium" with a pack number ("Nr 5" and "Nr 10" are known), "★ Serie A" and "Filmstjärnor och populära scenartister i strålande färgbilder", with "Förlag: Cumulus STOCKHOLM" on the back.
- Extremely hard to find.
Variants and printings
- Cumulus also issued six of the pictures in a format even larger than the postcards.
How to recognise
- Type I: a short line of text at the bottom naming the film and studio, for example "ELVIS PRESLEY i Paramounts "Ung Man Med Gitarr"", "ELVIS PRESLEY i "Jailhouse Rock" MGM", "TOMMY STEELE i "The Tommy Steele Story" Europafilm", "TOMMY STEELE på Sverigeturné Europafilm" or "TOMMY STEELE i "Hertig i Jeans" Europafilm". The "Love Me Tender" card names either RCA or 20th Century Fox. Most type I cards have text on the back.
- Type II: a white frame, with the name in script in white or black.
- Type III: like type II, without the white frame.
- Type IV: like types II and III, with a wide white strip at the bottom that also carries the name.
- Type V: like type III, with the name in a smaller, ornate script.
Numbers to know
