More about this set
About the set
- Numbered 1–198, with 199 given as the total. Dated 1960. Many eBay listings, ours included, call it 1958 Serie A, and the site keeps the old year in its URL.
- A well-liked set with attractive pictures, mixing film stars with musicians.
- Issued by Torsten G. Ericson in Hälsingborg. The wrappers carry "TEGES", "Hollywood-STJÄRNOR", "Äkta Filmfolie" and "Torsten G. Ericson, Hbg". A red wrapper has "RIKTPRIS 30 ÖRE"; grey and tan wrappers say "JUBILEUMSSERIE" and "Riktpris 35 öre".
Variants and printings
- The same pictures were issued in Holland, with "PRINTED IN HOLLAND", and in Finland, with the "Jenkki" back. Both are on thin card without laminate, and neither was sold in Sweden.
How to recognise
- Cards with two people use the Dutch "en" for "and", such as "Bill Haley en Elvis Presley" (No 63) and "T. Curtis en S. Poitier" (No 168).
- Some cards are landscape, such as No 63, 124, 151 and 168.
- The Dutch issue adds "PRINTED IN HOLLAND" after "Serie A" and is on thin paper without laminate. The Finnish issue is thin card without laminate, with a "Jenkki" chewing-gum advert on the back ("MAAN ENITEN MYYTY PURUKUMI · LANDETS MEST SÅLDA TUGGUMMI").
Numbers to know
- All numbers are about equally common.

- In colour: the same cards as Hellas Serie A, but with blank backs.
- The line PRINTED IN HOLLAND appears in different positions, and some cards lack it.
