Serie D
Hard to find in the thick, laminated Swedish printing; many collectors make do with the thin, glossy Dutch one. The Dutch printing swapped the pictures of No 47 Jane Wyman and No 112 Cecile Aubry, and those two error cards are the hardest.

Good to know
- The Swedish printing is much more sought after. It is harder to find than 1952 Serie B (Colored) and 1953 Serie C (Color), which are themselves fairly uncommon in Sweden, so many collectors make do with the Dutch cards.
- The card carries the star's name, "SERIE D", a short studio mark, and "No." with the number.
- The swapped No 47 and No 112 are harder to find than any other number in the set. All the other numbers are about equally hard to find.
More about this set
About the set
- Issued in 1953. Colour, numbered 1–198, but 200 cards in all because No 47 and No 112 each have two cards.
- Sold in Sweden by Svenska Handelskompaniet in Malmö, like 1952 Serie B (Colored) and 1953 Serie C (Color). A popular set.
- The Swedish 10-pack wrapper is marked "Serie nr 70" and "10 världsberömda FILMSTJÄRNOR i strålande färger", with Svenska Handelskomp., Malmö, on the back.
- The set was also printed in Holland, as many other sets were. There the cards were sold in small booklets of six, titled "Hollywood Stars" and numbered, for example "Serie D No. 1".
Variants and printings
- Two printings: the Swedish one (thick, laminated) and the Dutch one (thin, glossy, not laminated).
How to recognise
- Swedish printing: thicker card with a laminated (plastic-coated) front.
- Dutch printing: thinner, glossy paper with no laminate.
Numbers to know
- No 47 and No 112 are double numbers. In the Dutch production the two pictures were swapped: No 47, named Jane Wyman, shows Cecile Aubry, and No 112, named Cecile Aubry, shows Jane Wyman. The Swedish-made cards have the error corrected. So both numbers exist with the right picture and with the swapped one.
- No 143 is printed "Margareth Lockwood".
